FREE Ladybug Day - Saturday, May 30th

This Saturday, May 30th is Ladybug Day. 100,000 ladybugs will be distributed to adults and kids at Washington Market Park who will then release them into the park.

This super cool event will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Washington Market Park at Greenwich Street between Duane and Chambers Streets.

Manhattanhenge starting tomorrow!!

Only a few times a year can you get a perfect east-west view of the setting sun in Manhattan. Tomorrow, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th at 8:12pm and Sunday, July 12th and Monday, July 13th at 8:20pm are the days and times for 2015.

Check out 14th Street, 23rd Street, 34th Street, 42nd Street, and 57th Street. The best location is 42nd Street at First Avenue.

FREE STEM Summer Program for Middle Schoolers

The New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering is offering a FREE summer program, Science of Smart Cities, for NYC youth who will enter 7th or 8th grade in September 2015.

Science of Smart Cities focuses on engineering, technology, sustainability, and environmental issues, and taught by NYU undergraduates who are aspiring STEM professionals.

Through hands-on activities, guest lectures, field trip, and service learning opportunities, participating youth will learn engineering and technology skills while creating their own stainable cities.

The program will take place every weekday from July 6-31 and culminates in a Smart City Expo.

This Sunday is the World Science Festival. Tons of awesome hands on activities and a learning event for young and old. It's rain or shine and expect crowds.  You might want to bring water along too if its a hot day.  Look for me, I'll be there.
