Next day...

While I may have had a great day I did not have a great evening. Apparently, I was unprepared for the first day of school the next day. So began the coordinating of school supply lists to the prospective students ss well and managing expectations for the following day. However morning went surprisingly smoothly and everyone made it to their destination on time. Shocker.

The only hitch was that one kid forgot lunch. No biggie, I was able to quickly deliver it in the morning.  I even had a great talk with a school staff member.

Great day

Granted it didn't start of great but all and all it was a great day.

Well, we had a few "personality issues" with some of the kid folk this morning since we had to be out of the house early on the day before school begins and other plans may have been made by them. However, we all had lots of doctors appointments (which they knew about) and other places to go so fun times had to wait.

So yes, three kids and I schlepped all around Manhattan to visit three different doctors, religious school, and an acting audition.

Plus, we we went to TD Bank to get out earned $10 bank deposit for summer reading. It "ended" on August 31st and the teller said she and her manager could not override the code to put it in the system. A few hours later at a different TD Bank I decided to give it a try and this time it worked!  The nice teller even called me to let me know it went through. So sweet of her!

We also needed lunch so I found a $1.50 per slice place. I prefer the $1 slices but they are tough to find Downtown. In fact, I was psyched to find the $1.50 spot. I asked for seven slices but the guy said it would be cheaper to get a pie which typically has eight slices. We all ate our fill and had one extra slice remaining. There was a man in the pizza place that looked like he was hungary and could barely afford the one slice he was eating. I offered it to him and he was glad to accept. My mitzvah (good deed) for the day was complete.

Later after dropping one kid off at religious school and sending another one home on a bus, my youngest and I went to Barnes and Noble to retrieve our summer book list. Yes, it was technically late but by just a day which doesn't even count in my book.

Enroute to Barnes and Noble we stopped at Trader Joes and Whole Foods for free samples. On the way back we scored free bottles of Chocolate Quick.  Yum!

We even got our preferred bus home with little waiting.  Sweeeeeet!
